Bucci Bag

title:: More Lemonade
label:: Southern Fried Records

Dino Lenny is an Italian electronic dance artist who scored a major hit in 2002 with his first single Bucci Bag, recorded under the name Andrea Doria. The single ended up on many compilations.

For his second single, Dino has taken the name Bucci Bag. The music is like a more polished Larry Tee dance track. The male vocals have the same sexual innuendo, and the music is very similiar to Larry Tee or fellow Italian Benny Benassi.

The Dysfunctional Psychedelic Waltons

title:: Payback Time
label:: Meanwhile

The Dysfunctional Psychedelic Waltons is Fabien Waltmann and Nellee Hooper, plus guest vocalists.

I never liked Sneaker Pimps, but I like this single a lot - all versions. The sound is vocal oriented with dirty synths and pop structure. It is a pretty good sound.

Neulander

title:: Smoke + Fire
label:: Disko B

This is an album of pop songs, first and foremost. It clocks in at 39.8 minutes, each of the songs average 4 minutes in length—as soon as you get used to them they disappear. This slight ephemeral nature of the tracks makes for brilliant pop songs but weak dance tracks.

Several songs on this album would make great dance tracks if extended remixes of them were put out on 12”s. As things are now, you barely get a taste for the band before the songs are over. With that in mind, I should stress that this disc is essential electronica for anyone following the electro pop scene with any degree of interest.

Rebel Futurism

various artists
label:: Crosstown Rebels

President of City Rockers and compiler of the 'City Rockers Futurism' and 'Futurism 2' compilations, Damian Lazarus is back in 2004 on his new Crosstown Rebels label with a new compilation series called 'Rebel Futurism.'

Session One in this new series starts out strong in Lazarus' attempt in a post-electro world, as he elevates his style to include elements of tech-house, dub and pop references.

The Undertones

title:: Listening In
label:: Sanctuary Records

The Undertones are pure punk pop at its root, an Irish band who put out 4 albums between 1978 and 1982, but also recorded a slew of BBC radio sessions in that time period which helpfully augment their album and single output. Undertones radio sessions have surfaced in the past, but with selected recordings - so as is the way nowadays, Listening In: Radio Sessions 1978-1982 collects all 7 of them on an incredible 27 track cd.
