Fading Yellow volume 2

various artists
label:: Flower Machine Records

Anyone who's been into any of the Rev-Ola's or the Rhino Handmade Psychedelic and Soft Pop Nuggets will want to check out the Fading Yellow series. In the days when psychedelic music met the pop muse, the end result was what is now called Psychedelic Pop.

There's a whole bounty of sike-pop (as they call it) that you want to hear and that you might well have been looking for already if you are a collector.

Fading Yellow volume 3

various artists
label:: Flower Machine Records

Fading Yellow Volume 3 continues where Volume 2 left off with more obscure 1960s North American sike-pop.

Fading Yellow still remains one of the best ways to hear such wonderful and obscure 60s psychedelic pop - and Fading Yellow Vol. 3 is just as consistent as Volume 2 in that regard.

Polarius

title:: Winter in Polarius
label:: Créme Organization

Polarius is Danny Wolfers from The Hague in Holland. Danny records under many different names both alone and in colaboration with other artists, but is best known for his recordigns as Legowelt.

This EP has a wintry feel from the tones of the music to the graphics of a ski lift on the label. Many other writers have pointed out the similarity of the Polarius sound to old school Chicago House and Acid House. The music is simple and basic with a strong 4/4 beat and subtle flourishes. All tracks are instrumentals.
