The 5.6.7.8's are a Japanese all-girl trio who have only released a dozen or so singles and EPs and two full-length albums since they started out in 1986.
The sound is ragged rock firmly rooted in the '50s and '60s. Leader Ronnie's voice has gotten rougher with time. This disc is a high-energy party album.

Mutamassik (Arabic for "stronghold") is based out of Brooklyn, but is Egyptian in origin.
This 12" is Mutamassik's first as far as I can tell; her only other appearances have been on compilations and in collaborations with the likes of Arto Lindsay.

The Outsiders were without a doubt the most prolific and exciting band from a non-English speaking country to come out of the 1960s.
It's great to see that this Dutch band are finally getting their due with this much needed compilation which collects every single (A + B sides both) they recorded between 1965 and 1969.
