  • Bang Goes

    Bang Goes

    12' / Bruchstuecke

The music has odd sounds and lots going on in each song. One song has a sound like a cricket chirping. I think this is an intentional touch to enhance the warped island feel created by what sounds like treated kettle drums.

  • Margo Guryan

    Margo Guryan

    CD / 25 Demos / Franklin Castle

I don't think you have to be in the know (anymore) to have heard about Margo Guryan or to appreciate her many talents and her unique charm. I'm sure that fans of everything from the Monkees to the Gentle Waves and Belle and Sebastian may have heard about her and would appreciate her.

  • Howie B

    Howie B

    CD / Folk / Polydor

  • Plunderphonics

    Plunderphonics

    2XCD / Seeland

What is it they did? I can't really tell. They ... played with music. It's not sampling, as we've come to know it. It's hardly remixing. They basically take a peice of pre-recorded music. A Doors song. A Dolly Parton song. 'The Girl from Impanema'-and f*#% with it.

  • T. Raumschiere

    T. Raumschmiere

    12' / Musick / Kompakt

    T. Raumschiere is radical stuff indeed. You have to leave your old school sensibilities at the door when putting on a track from him.

  • V.A. Zero

    V.A. Zero

    12' / various / Sender Records

4 song EP with each song grooved alone - you have to manually pick up the stylus and place the needle in the second set of grooves to start the second song on each side. T.Raumschmiere's 'Knisterpop' (B1) is the reason I bought this.
