Yeah, yeah, yeah... tribute albums generally suck.
Consider this CD the exception to that rule.
Thirteen bands from across the globe pay tribute a great UK punk band The Boys.
I'm not sure if it's the high caliber of the bands (including Thee Michelle Gun Elephant, Nikki Sudden, Nomads, Splash Four, Die Toten Hosen, and The Flaming Stars) or the strength of the originals, but either way, there's a lot to recommend here.
Even the bands I wasn't familiar with (like Sharpers and Chinese Takeaway) delivered the goods. Why, even Honest John Plain sings vocals on one track, paying tribute to, well, himself.
